 Jeff Manookian
Conductor, Composer
Jeff Manookian is a composer, pianist, conductor, and musical critic. As a composer he has awarded several prizes (Grand Prize at Frederick Delius Composition Competition, Three Grand Prizes at Composers Guild International Composition Competition). He has written the Concerto for Flute, String Quartet N 1, Sonata for Flute and Piano, "Symphony of Tears", Piano Sonata N 3, "Celebration Fanfare" and other works were commissioned by the authoritative organizations. His music has been performed at Kennedy Center in Washington and broadcast live over the Internet. Ensembles such as Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra, APO, Pasadena Symphony, Fresno Philharmonic, Utah Symphony have performed his works. As a pianist he has solo concerts and performances with symphonic orchestras in Philippines, Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Mexico, USA and other countries. Some concerts were broadcast by radio. As a conductor for the first time he appeared at age 16. Jeff Manookian has performances with Pasadena, Armenian, Salt Lake, and American West Symphony Orchestras. He is an artistic director of Utah Youth Symphony, Westminster Chamber Orchestra, and Intermountain Classical Orchestra.
