 Araik Bakhtikyan
Duduk
Born in 1962 in Gavar, Armenia. In the period of 1982-1987 studied at the Yerevan State Conservatory, folk department, the class of duduk.
From 1988 till 1992 as a teacher worked in the Romanos Melikian Music College.
From 1991 till 1995 worked with Punik Folk Ensemble.
Prize-winner of Sayat-Nova national competition (First Prize, 1987), The Second International Ukrainian Music Festival (Diploma, 1991, Ukraine). Participated in Festival of Musik aus Tadschikistan, Aserbaidschan, Georgien und Armenien (1999, Germany).
Several times performed A. Terterian Symphony No 3 for duduk and zurna with Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Loris Tjeknavorian and Dresden Symphony Orchestra by Mikhael Helmrant.
Since 1998 has worked with “Zartonk” Children’s Dance Ensemble.
Was on tour in France, Germany, Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Georgia.
