Born in 1946 in Baku, Azerbaidzan. In the period of 1966-1971 studied at the Baku State Conservatory, composition department. From 1971-1988 worked in the Sumgait Music College. In 1977-1983 specialized with professor Yuri Fortunatov in Moscow (Russia). Since 1989 has been teaching at the Yerevan State Conservatory, theory of music chair. Prize-winner of the Aram Khachaturyan Republican competition (1993, First Prize). The author of sixth symphonies, three violin concertos with orchestra, concert for two pianos with orchestra, cello concerto, three quartets, several instrumental sonatas, orchestral and chamber works. Since 1997 Professor of the Yerevan State Conservatory.
